Welcome to the website of the European project TECHGENE; “Technological innovation of high throughput molecular diagnostics of clinically and molecularly heterogeneous genetic disorders”!
TECHGENE is a 7th Framework Program (FP7); a so called “Small or medium-scale focused research project (STREP)”, which involved a collaboration between 12 partners from 9 different countries. It received funding from the European Union. TECHGENE started in February 2009 and has ended in January 2012.
On this site you can find information on the project, its organization and (research) activities.
Even though the TECHGENE project has now ended, the coordinator of the project continues to disseminate the knowledge acquired during the project. This, by organising TECHGENE knowledge network meetings and workshops every 6 months. These events are open to anybody who is interested! See our news section for upcoming meetings and workshops.
By organising the TECHGENE knowledge network meetings, the coordinator intends to contribute to the implementation of Next Generation Sequencing techniques in diagnostic laboratories all over the world. For more information on the NGS techniques implemented in the diagnostic laboratories during the project, see the website of Genome Diagnostics Nijmegen (www.genomediagnosticsnijmegen.nl) or visit the websites of our TECHGENE partners.
